Who I am
I am Chris, a qualified UKCP counsellor, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor based in East London, passionate about working with people from all walks of life.
I offer an inclusive, affirming and collaborative therapy for individuals, couples/relationships and families of all genders, sexualities, backgrounds, ages, abilities, neurotypes and relationship structures. I am a gay man and have particular expertise working with LGBT+ clients and apply a Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diverse (GSRD) approach to my work.
I offer reflective and supportive clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists who are registered with UKCP or BACP, which I conduct through an intersectional lens. I also support Transactional Analysis (TA), humanistic and integrative trainees through their psychotherapy training. .
My approach
Our life experiences can have a powerful effect on shaping our view of the world and can lead us to become trapped in unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving.
Through counselling, psychotherapy and mediation, I help individuals, couples, families and groups through their relational problems to make meaningful change and find better connections with themselves and others.
I am an integrative therapist, specialising in Relational Transactional Analysis (TA), which means that I bring together all the different aspects of my training and experience to find what therapy approach is the best for each individual.
My roots in Relational TA combine Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy, which can be used to understand and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour, and the often unconscious psychological process behind them.
My practice is informed by years of working and living alongside the diverse communities of East London. I value cultural context as a key part of the therapeutic journey and believe in a collaborative approach - where, together, we can identify repetitive, often painful patterns, and how they might be understood, changed, or let go.
I apply an intersectional lens to clinical supervision, which means that I see therapy work not only taking place between individuals, but also within systems of power, privilege, oppression, culture and identity, and actively explore how these shape the therapeutic and supervisory relationships. I believe that mutuality, radical openness, and an authentic relationship are essential to empowering and challenging therapists in their professional and personal development
In-person and online
My practice rooms are located in Shoreditch and in Dalston. I also work online, over Zoom.
